Setup guide

Connect your Zoom account.

Let your website create a Zoom meeting automatically for every online booking, and send the link to your client.

Time: about 10 minutes

You need: a Zoom account you own

You'll copy: 3 codes

Before you start

When a client books an online session, your website asks Zoom to create the meeting and puts the join link in the client's confirmation and reminder. If they reschedule or cancel, the Zoom meeting is updated or removed too.

To allow this, you create a small private “app” inside your own Zoom account. Nobody else can see it. Zoom then gives you three codes to paste into your website: an Account ID, a Client ID and a Client Secret.

Use the right Zoom account. Sign in with the Zoom account you host your sessions from. Free Zoom meetings end after 40 minutes, so a paid plan (Pro or higher) is best for longer sessions.

Step by step

1

Open the Zoom App Marketplace

Go to marketplace.zoom.us and sign in. Open Develop → Build App, click the round + button next to Developer, then Build app.

2

Choose “Server to Server OAuth App”

Select Server to Server OAuth App and click Create. If it asks for a name, type Nunkio Booking. Don't choose “General App” or “Webhook Only”; your website only works with this type.

3

Copy your three codes

On the App Credentials page, copy the Account ID, Client ID and Client Secret and keep them somewhere safe for now. Treat the Client Secret like a password. Click Continue.

4

Fill in the app details

On the Information page add an app name, a short description, your company name and your developer contact name and email. Nobody else sees these, but Zoom won't switch the app on without them. Click Continue twice.

5

Add the three meeting permissions, then activate

On Scopes, click + Add Scopes, search for meeting:admin and tick these three, then click Done and Continue:
  • Create a meeting (meeting:write:meeting:admin)
  • Update a meeting (meeting:update:meeting:admin)
  • Delete a meeting (meeting:delete:meeting:admin)

On the Activation page click Activate your app. It must say Activated, or your codes won't work.

6

Paste the codes into your website

Go to Nunkio Booking → Settings → Zoom, tick Enable Zoom, paste the three codes and click Save settings. You'll see “Connected and active”. Make a test booking with Online via Zoom and check the confirmation email has a Zoom link.

If something goes wrong

Website says “Not connected”

Check the app says Activated in Zoom (step 5). Copy the codes again with no extra spaces.

No Zoom link in the booking

Make sure the service allows Online via Zoom and the client chose it when booking.

Rescheduled meeting keeps the old time

The Update a meeting permission is missing. Add it (step 5) and save.

Meetings end after 40 minutes

That's the free Zoom plan limit. Upgrade the Zoom account the app was made in.
